797 Deli Grocery clerk killed in possible East New York robbery

The deli owner says he believes a robbery suspect is behind the killing. (1/10/14)

BROOKLYN - A store clerk is dead after a possible robbery in East New York.

The owner of 797 Deli Grocery says a suspect came into the basement and hit an employee over the head, which resulted in his death.

Police say a customer found the clerk unconscious.

The owner also says he believes it was a robbery and that he believes the suspect got away with money and cigarettes.

The store’s owner says police took surveillance video and detectives are questioning people in other stores about what they may have seen.
