SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Brooklyn?s district attorney announced today the arrests of eight people for allegedly dumping raw sewage and restaurant grease into Shell Bank Creek.

District Attorney Charles Hynes says the managers of a local marina, United Artists movie theater, Knap Street Bagels and the landlord of a TGI Friday's are charged in the case.

Hynes credited the neighborhood for continually speaking out about the conditions of the water.

If convicted, the eight people arrested could spend up to four years in prison and face hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.  Hynes, however, said it is unlikely any of the accused will face jail time.
