Eight firefighters were injured today battling a four-alarm fire on Clarkson Avenue in East Flatbush.Officials say the four-alarm fire ripped through a row of buildings,

EAST FLATBUSH - Eight firefighters were injured today battling a four-alarm fire on Clarkson Avenue in East Flatbush.

Officials say the four-alarm fire ripped through a row of buildings, displaced residents and damaged a church. It took nearly 180 firefighters to put out the fire.

Firefighters say that a shaft in the middle of the building caused the fire to move very quickly. Officials say an electrical malfunction caused the fire.

The injured firefighters are all expected to be OK.
