BROOKLYN - Five people have been arrested and a total of eight people have been indicted on charges of luring young women in prostitution.
Officials say the arrests and indictments follow a sex trafficking ring bust. The charges claim that the group would lure girls from local middle and high schools, eventually giving them a quota of $500 a day.
Police say in some of the cases, if the young girls didn't meet their quota, they would be beaten or starved.
If convicted of the charges, each suspect could be sentenced to 40 years in prison.
