8-year-old girl struck, killed by SUV in front of home

An 8-year-old girl was struck and killed by an SUV in front of her home in Ditmas Park Wednesday evening.

DITMAS PARK - An 8-year-old girl was struck and killed by an SUV in front of her home in Ditmas Park Wednesday evening.

Officials have identified the victim as Jadann Williams.

Police say the girl was crossing East 22nd Street directly in front of her home when she was hit by a Toyota SUV.

Robert Campbell, an off-duty EMT and nurse, witnessed the accident. He gave the girl CPR and tried to reassure her. 

Rescuers arrived, and Jadann was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The 35-year-old male driver stayed at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
