BROOKLYN - Police say a 9-year-old boy was killed and three others were injured after an SUV jumped the curb this afternoon in Fort Greene.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. at the corner of Dekalb Avenue and Clermont Avenue. Police say it appears the driver of the SUV was trying to avoid crashing into another car when it happened.

The boy was pinned by the SUV, and his mother was among the victims who were injured in the crash.

The FDNY says four people were taken to Kings County Hospital, including the child's mother and the driver of the SUV. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
