BROOKLYN - Police say a 9-year-old boy is in stable condition after he was shot in the arm confronting a group of teens who had stolen his bike last night.

The boy, Ronnell Gurley, left the bike in front of a store at 902 Williams St. at around 9 p.m., and when he came out it was gone. A few hours later, the child and his 25-year-old uncle saw the silver BMX bike with a group of teenagers.

Police say they got into a fight with the boys who had the bike, and a 15-year-old pulled out a gun and fired a shot. The boy was hit in the arm and is in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital.

Authorities say they arrested the alleged shooter, whose name hasn't been released because he's a minor. They also arrested 19-year-old Kimon Murray and charged him with criminal possession of stolen property.

The bike was recovered.
