BROOKLYN - After living in the country for several years, hundreds of Brooklyn immigrants became citizens today.

About 200 Brooklyn immigrants became American citizens today at the U.S. District Court in Downtown Brooklyn.

Although citizenship ceremonies happen almost every day at the court, this one was extra special for five married couples because it's Valentine's Day.

"It's so cool," said Olgerta Dardabella, a new U.S. citizen. "I'm going to remember this day for all my life, so I want to say thanks America, for giving us an opportunity to come and work here and live better than before."
