Access-A-Ride driver allegedly caught reading behind the wheel

BROOKLYN - An Access-A-Ride driver is out of a job tonight after allegedly being caught on tape reading while behind the wheel.

According to a witness who allegedly shot the video, the driver was heading down Ocean Parkway toward Coney Island at around 7 a.m. today with reading material over the steering wheel.

The witness posted the video on YouTube, where the driver is seen flipping a page while navigating the busy roadway.

According to the MTA, the driver has been fired. In a statement released today, the MTA says it does not condone or tolerate that type of behavior.
