Air Force members work to clean up Grand Army Plaza

(08/25/10) PROSPECT PARK - Dozens of members of the Air Force weeded and collected trash at Grand Army Plaza today to help clean up the park.

The day was a part of Air Force Week and the team says it chose to clean up Grand Army Plaza because the monument honors war veterans.

Men and women were on their hands and knees pulling up weeds and disposing of litter in the pouring rain, but volunteers said the weather was no bother.

"It's interesting with the rain, but we train in all kinds of weather, so this is nothing. It's just a part of the job. It's a lot of fun actually," said Marie Lecorps, one of the volunteers.
