BROOKLYN - A judge has set bail at $75,000 for a 22-year-old Flatbush man accused of shooting a 3-year-old early Saturday morning.

According to police, 22-year-old Akeem Bernard shot the young boy, identified as Terrel, in the head on East 21st Street. They say Bernard is a family friend who lives in the same building, and that a baby sitter was caring for the child at the time.

Bernard was arraigned on several charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence. He’s due back in court on Aug. 30.

Terrel remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.
