BROOKLYN - Alternate side parking rules have been suspended in New York City through Friday, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The mayor says roads are still dangerous following Saturday's snowstorm and that people digging out their cars will only make for a more messy road situation.

"Leave your car where it is," de Blasio says. "Don't try and shovel it out today unless you have an emergency."

Mayor de Blasio also says people digging out their cars could possibly get in the way of emergency responders.
