BROOKLYN - City officials have announced that alternate side parking regulations are back in effect.

While most sidewalks and streets are now clear of snow, those Brooklyn residents who have put off carving out their cars may now have to do so to accommodate street cleaning.

Officials from the Department of Sanitation say they now hope to completely clear roadways to provide more parking spaces and better access to fire hydrants.

Department of Transportation officials say metered parking remains in effect.

Alternate side parking regulations have been suspended since Jan. 20 due to all the snowfall.
