BROOKLYN - A teenager has been arrested in connection with the assault of two NYPD officers in Williamsburg.

According to police, 17-year-old Anthony Lewis was found Wednesday night during a routine check in a restricted part of Borinquen Plaza, a NYCHA housing complex on McKibben Street and Bushwick Avenue.

Investigators say there was a physical altercation after Lewis allegedly reached for his waist band, and he ended up getting away. The cops involved were then taken to Kings County Hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Police spent the rest of the night searching the area for Lewis, even using an NYPD helicopter to help track him down. He’s now charged with two counts of assault on police, two counts of resisting arrest and two counts of obstructing government administration.

It’s not clear whether the teen was armed at the time of the altercation.
