BROOKLYN - A pop-up art exhibit at the Brooklyn Historical Society is highlighting the work of women of color.

The b.Girl Movement is an organization that aims to put a spotlight on the work of women throughout New York City.

Five women were honored on Friday. There were also spoken word performances, poems, music and a screening of a short film.

Organizers say they will continue to hold similar events throughout the year.
