GREENPOINT - A group of artists has found a way to turn items damaged by Sandy into gold.

Greenpoint furniture designer Francois Chambard is one of the 25 artists asked to create pieces out of Sandy debris by Reclaim NYC. Chambard says he went to hard-hit Red Hook days after Sandy hit, collecting tons of debris to be used in the project.

The pieces will be auctioned off in a SoHo gallery for the NY chapter of the Red Cross to benefit Sandy's victims.
