BROOKLYN - A new simulator is showing drivers just how dangerous it can be to text behind the wheel.

Equipped with a steering wheel and smartphone, it challenges people to text and drive, but News 12 cameras caught one person after another fail to avoid a crash.

AT&T New York says its simulator is helping to send the simple message that no text is worth losing your life.

Mayor Bill de Blasio's Vision Zero traffic safety initiative also includes crackdowns on texting while driving.
