Atlantic Yards opponents call for review process overhaul

BROOKLYN - While some opponents fight the Atlantic Yards project, others want to change the review process for similar developments in the future. Opponents are demanding the review process become more transparent and allow for more public input. They want community groups to have an active role when it comes to development. One idea calls for a government-funded community group that would be solely responsible for overseeing and negotiating on the public?s behalf.Some observers say an approval process that doesn't allow sufficient public input ends up hurting city government.
