BROOKLYN - An MTA audit has found that subway lines in Brooklyn and the rest of the city are overcrowded and often late. The audit looked at every subway line in the city, examining how often trains were late, how crowded they were and if more trains could be added to relieve the congestion. According to the audit, the L train was in the worst shape. During the morning rush hour, the audit found the train had more people than the agency's limit. The audit also claims that it isn't possible to add more trains during the peak commute times. There was some positive news for the borough. The audit found that the J, M and Z lines were on time close to 99 percent and weren't using their full capacity.A report in the New York Times says that the city's transit president insists Mayor Bloomberg's congestion pricing plan will only make the problem worse if it is approved.
