Auto shop fire injures a dozen firefighters in Borough Park

Officials say at least a dozen firefighters were injured while battling a fire at an auto shop in Borough Park this morning.The flames broke out

BOROUGH PARK - Officials say at least a dozen firefighters were injured while battling a fire at an auto shop in Borough Park this morning.

The flames broke out on Fort Hamilton Parkway at around 9:45 a.m.

The assistant fire chief on the scene says although most of the firefighters sustained minor injuries, one firefighter sustained a broken ankle and two were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Both are listed in stable condition.

Officials have yet to release the cause of the fire.
