BROOKLYN - An auxillary bishop from Brooklyn has been promoted to bishop of Bridgeport, Conn.
Pope Francis chose Frank Caggiano to take over the role of bishop in Bridgeport.
The 54-year-old son of Italian immigrants told News 12 that it's important that the church embrace technology and become a powerful force where others now dominate.
He also discussed his views on homosexuality.
"Gay and lesbian Catholics, as those who are straight, are loved by the Lord, and we are to love them as well," he said. Still, he says he does not agree with gay marriage.
