Balmy Brooklyn weather to give way to winter blast

BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents braced Sunday for the first snowfall of 2008 after being spoiled by days of unseasonably warm weather.

Forecasters predicted temperatures would dip into the 30s at night. Heavy clouds, rain and sleet are expected to turn into snow overnight. Forecasters predicted 3 to 6 inches will fall.

The snow is expected to taper off by Monday afternoon.

Drivers are advised to take it easy on slick city streets during the Monday morning commute.

AP wire reports contributed to this story.
