BROOKLYN - Basketball coaches from around the Atlantic 10 converged on the Barclays Center for media day this week.

The new arena will host the postseason tournament for the A-10 in March next year. Former LIU Brooklyn coach Jim Ferry was back in the borough for the event, representing his new team at Duquesne.

The league is seen by some as an on-the-rise challenge to the Big East, which has lost powerhouses like Syracuse and Pittsburgh, while the A-10 gained Final Four competitors VCU and Butler.

Madison Square Garden will play host to the Big East Tournament on the same weekend that the A-10 is in Brooklyn.
