Bargain-hunters hit the stores after Christmas

BROOKLYN - One day after all the Christmas presents have been opened, Brooklyn residents rushed to local stores Saturday to make exchanges and search for deals.

National retailers, including JC Penney, Macy's and Saks, are luring in customers by offering deep discounts, some up to 65 percent off, in hopes of boosting their sales.

Despite the sales, store managers say customers should not expect to find as many clearance items as last year thanks to better inventory strategies.
