BROOKLYN - A man who barricaded himself inside his apartment in Bay Ridge has been apprehended.

According to police, the suspect is on parole and refused to open his front door when officers arrived at 8502 Fort Hamilton Parkway Wednesday morning. A standoff followed, prompting officials to shut down the surrounding area.

Authorities say the man eventually opened his door and was taken away in handcuffs. No weapons or hostages were involved.
