BROOKLYN - The beat goes on for a music program at one Cypress Hills school.

Students at I.S. 171 were the guests of honor at the "We Saved the Band" celebration at City National Bank on Atlantic Avenue. The bank was one of many donors that helped raise the necessary $38,000.

State budget cuts had turned off the music for students, but the after-school program will now resume next month.
