Bed-Stuy protests to save fire department

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - Rallies to save fire departments from getting the ax are taking place all over Brooklyn.

Today, the Bed-Stuy community protested against Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s proposal to cut its fire company, one of eight in Brooklyn that could close to save the city money.

Engine 233 responds to Bed-Stuy and neighboring Bushwick.

This Friday, protesters and firefighters will march across the Brooklyn Bridge and have a major rally at City Hall to protest Mayor Bloomberg?s proposed cuts to fire companies.
