BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - A group of volunteers spent the afternoon repairing a community garden in Bed-Stuy that was damaged by Sandy.

The Hattie Carthan Community Garden on Lafayette Avenue suffered a lot of wind and tree damage in the storm, and its greenhouse and farmer's market were destroyed.

Volunteers say the community depends on the garden's farmer's market, which is why they wanted to get it fixed up quickly.
