BROOKLYN - A Bed-Stuy woman was found dead in her apartment Sunday. Meanwhile, her boyfriend, a person of interest in the case, was killed by North Carolina police after they say he opened fire on them.

Jasmine Liggins was apparently shot in the head in her 1-87 Malcolm X Blvd. apartment, where sources say she lived with her boyfriend, Hakeem Chaneyfield, and her 11-year-old daughter.

Chaneyfield went missing after the incident but turned up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where police tried arresting him. Authorities say he opened fire during the arrest and police fired back, killing him.

The NYPD, in conjunction with North Carolina authorities, is now investigating.
