GREENPOINT - A Brooklyn artist has found a creative way to turn iconic New York City landmarks into collectors' items.

Greenpoint artist Alex Gardega created a set of trading cards of the city's most iconic places.

It took Gardega six years to paint the 40 images, which include the Brooklyn Bridge, the Bronx Zoo and the Yankee Stadium.

"For years I couldn't decide what do with them, and then one day I thought well they would make pretty cool trading cards," said Gardega.

The artist put together a pack of five cards representing each borough and called them NYC Trading Cards. The cards are sold online.

The first set was so popular that they sold out in months, and Gardega is already working on the next set which will feature iconic New Yorkers, actors, mobsters and politicians.
