BROOKLYN - The Cronut craze has hit Brooklyn, and one local bakery is putting its own twist on the popular new treat.

The Cronut, which is a cross between a croissant and a donut, has been trademarked by a Manhattan chef, so Le Petit Bakery came up with the Squat.

Owner Christopher Sanchez says he's trying to do things a little differently with his square croissant donut, and make it even better than the original.

The Squat has only been on sale for about two months, but it’s quickly become Le Petit's most popular pastry with flavors that include chocolate and bacon, coconut and vanilla with sprinkles.
