BROOKLYN - Pre-K students at P.S. 46 in Fort Greene met with an award-winning author Wednesday.

Selina Alko, author of "B For Brooklyn," joined the ongoing "Behind the Book" series. The program takes accomplished authors into classrooms in underserved communities to help guide students in writing and art, officials say.

"B for Brooklyn" takes every letter in the alphabet and attaches it to an iconic borough landmark.

Next week, author Raquel Ortiz will visit first-graders at the same school to read her book "Sofie and the Magic Musical Mural."
