Bicyclist struck, killed in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS - A bicyclist was struck and killed in a crash in Crown Heights late this morning.

Officials say the female cyclist was struck by a truck just before noon.

Witnesses say that the truck appeared to be trying to beat the light on Empire Boulevard.

Officials say that the victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but was killed almost instantly after being dragged under the vehicle.

Police say the driver of the truck stayed at the scene of the incident. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
