BROOKYLN - Brooklyn residents who want to show their support for the plight of farm animals are getting a special tattoo to symbolize solidarity.

At a tattoo shop on North 8th Street, people are getting tattoos with the number 269. They say it's a worldwide symbol that is used to represent how cows, pigs and other animals are branded and treated poorly before they're killed for food and other uses.

Those who got the special ink say they're hoping to draw attention to the mistreatment of farm animals.
