BROOKLYN - Tenants in Brooklyn apartment buildings may soon have to fend for themselves if thousands of unionized doormen and apartment buildings workers go on strike.

Members of the union in Brooklyn and Queens have already voted to authorize the strike. Manhattan union members voted Thursday to authorize a strike if negotiations fail by April 21.

The workers say they want better wages, health benefits, sick days and overtime rules.
