BK Army Terminal to switch to solar-powered energy

BROOKLYN - The Brooklyn Army Terminal says it is looking for a company to help take on a $10 million solar energy project.

The Environmental Development Corporation (EDC) says the building will be partially run off the city's largest solar energy system.

The project will include more than 50,000 square-feet of solar panels.

EDC officials say the change is a test to see if solar energy can successfully power a large site.
