BROOKLYN - A 7-year-old Brooklyn boy is being hailed a hero after making a life-saving phone call for his mother yesterday.

Andrew Chanpagne was sworn in as an honorary junior EMS technician today after dialing 911 when he saw his mom shaking because of a seizure in East New York. Officials say the young boy remained calm and knew all of his contact information, including the bell number downstairs.

His mother was transported to Kings County Hospital Center and is expected to be OK.
