BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn man who suffered from a massive brain injury is now the subject of a new documentary film.

"Back Walking Forward" is the story of Eric Michalowski's survival, his parents and his longtime doctor, Kathryn Ko, of St. Barnabas Hospital.

Michalowski was hit by a truck in 1995. He suffered a massive brain injury and was originally given almost no chance to live. However, Michalowski beat the odds and is now learning how to do everything again.

"We want the public to know that these patients, we can't give up on them," Ko says. "We got to continue to develop new technology to help them recover."

Ko says Michalowski's goal is to walk again.
