BROOKLYN - Brooklyn mom-and-pop shop owners say this winter has taken its toll on their wallets.

As more snow continued to pile up in the borough, fewer customers have ventured out to shop. On 7th Avenue, a normally busy pizza shop was nearly empty throughout the day.

At South Slope Café, owner Ben Jones says the wintry weather has also slowed down his business. However, some workers at Sweet Melissa's say they've been doing fairly well as kids head out to nearby parks and playgrounds to enjoy the snow.
