BROOKYLN - A classroom in a Bushwick school has been renovated and dedicated to honor the memory of a local teacher who passed away last fall.

Maureen Suliecki, a kindergarten teacher at P.S. 196, died in October of lung cancer.

The school's assistant principal wanted to do something special to honor Suliecki, but budget constraints got in the way. Then, clothing retailer Aeropostale heard about the school's plans, and agreed to pay to renovate a classroom in honor of the beloved teacher.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this morning.
