GOWANUS - A Brooklyn company is contributing to the space race one suit at a time.Final Frontier Design, based in Gowanus, has created two suit prototypes intended for commercial flights into space. Company founders Ted Southern and Nikolay Moiseev say their gear weighs less than 15 pounds, and that they want to make it lighter and less expensive than NASA's. The company raised funds online, and was able to sell their suits to an individual space enthusiast and a business in Spain. Each one sold for $10,000, and they say they are working on a third design. To watch extended coverage and interviews on the spacesuits, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
