BK girl found unconscious in bathtub; mother arrested

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn mother was arrested Tuesday after her daughter was found unconscious in a bathtub.Police say 18-year-old Jovanna Shiriver left the 11-month-old girl unattended with a 2-year-old at 512 Classon Avenue in Clinton Hill. Officials say Shiriver was attempting to prepare a meal. They say EMS crews arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call. Shiriver was arrested on charges of reckless endangermentand acting in a manner injurious to a child. Neighbors, however, maintained she is an attentive mother and that the incident must be an accident.The girl was taken to Interfaith Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
