BROOKLYN - A local lawmaker is pushing for new legislation that would increase penalties for some gun owners.

Brooklyn Sen. Eric Adams says he wants harsher punishments for anyone who knowingly gives their weapons to someone else who carries out a crime.

The bill was drafted after a woman was charged for giving guns to William Spengler, a convicted felon who fatally shot two firefighters upstate.
