BK man accused of forcing girls, women to sell sex

BROOKLYN - (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a 24-year-old man was aviolent pimp who forced young girls and women into prostitution inNew York City and Long Island. The suspect was arraigned Wednesday in Brooklyn onsex-trafficking charges that carry a possible life sentence onconviction. Prosecutors allege that he advertised the services ofwomen between the ages of 15 and 20 on Craigslist. Court papers state that the women arranged meetings with clientsat hotels in Brooklyn, Queens and on Long Island. The girls werepaid about $200 for an hour of sex, cash that was then given to thesuspected pimp. FBI agent Evan Nicholas said in court papers that the suspectslept with his prostitutes and threatened them with violence. The suspect was ordered held without bail pending a hearingMonday.
