BK man accused of holding girlfriend hostage

BROOKLYN - A Brooklyn man has been arrested for allegedly holding his girlfriend hostage for a month.

According to police, 31-year-old Anthony Matthews is facing charges for kidnapping, attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and assault. They say he held his 26-year-old live-in girlfriend against her will at their Bainbridge Street home.

Officials say Matthews finally brought the victim to Woodhull Medical Center. Police got involved after burns and contusions were found on her body.
