BK native fired from Syracuse Univ. over abuse allegations

Syracuse University's assistant basketball coach and Brooklyn native Bernie Fine has been fired following allegations of sexual abuse. University Chancellor Nancy Cantor made the decision

BROOKLYN - Syracuse University's assistant basketball coach and Brooklyn native Bernie Fine has been fired following allegations of sexual abuse.

University Chancellor Nancy Cantor made the decision yesterday after a recorded phone call was released between Fine's wife and one of his accusers, Bobby Davis. His wife said she knew about the abuse and did nothing about it.

A third accuser, 23-year-old Zach Tomaselli, also came forward yesterday. He claims the 65-year-old touched him multiple times in a Pittsburgh hotel room in 2002.

The Erasmus High School graduate was already on paid leave after two former ball boys first made the allegations.
