MIDWOOD - Several Brooklyn organizations have invited more than 180 Jewish mothers to pick up free kosher food for Passover.

The distribution was a joint effort between the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty, the Mas-Bia Soup Kitchen and the Jewish single-mothers support group, Sister to Sister. 

The organizations are providing Jewish mothers who are single or have been victims of domestic violence bags of kosher food items.

Volunteers at Mas-Bia say that access to free "kosher for Passover" food is very important this time of year.
