BK pharmacists charged with defrauding Medicare

BROOKLYN - Two Brooklyn pharmacists have been charged with defrauding Medicare out of several millions.

Luba Balyasny, 46, and Alla Shrayber, 40, have been accused of submitting false claims to Medicare of about $3 million. They submitted the claims through two pharmacies the pair owned.

Authorities estimate the women filed claims for 870,000 units of prescription medications that were never bought or dispensed.
