BK Remembering 9/11: DUMBO art exhibit

BROOKLYN - A group of 10 Brooklyn artists set up an interactive art exhibit on the streets of DUMBO this weekend dedicated to the Sept. 11 anniversary.

The exhibit, called "Rethinking Memorials," encourages the public to use art to reflect on the impact of the tragedy. Organizers say the works are paying homage to the spontaneous memorials that went up at firehouses, police stations and other locations all across the city after the terrorist attacks.

The Brooklyn Arts Council (BAC) has hosted 9/11 memorial projects for the past six years, but this 10th anniversary exhibit will be BAC's last.
