BK Remembering 9/11: Firefighter Stephen Siller

BROOKLYN - One of the people killed at the World Trade Center was firefighter Stephen Siller, and his story has become a legend.

Siller was one of 12 firefighters from Squad One in Park Slope, who gave their lives to save others. When he was told he couldn't go any further with his truck he ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel in full gear on Sept. 11.

Now every September, athletes re-trace his footsteps in the "Tunnel to Towers" run. Siller's brother says dedicating himself to this work is therapeutic.
